On the 29th September 1992, The Flash Centre opened their doors to the vibrant London Photographic scene, just doors away from Kodak in The Brunswick Centre.
The first and the only premises dedicated to the professional lighting needs of photographers in the City, the space also incorporated dedicated Repair and Rental facilities (there's even coveted car parking spaces available in the basement!)
From this dream came an idea; which with ambition, industry and time grew into a reality. New products were taken on and distributed, branches opened in Leeds and Birmingham, and new franchises such as Manfrotto, Phase One, Canon, Nikon, Fuji and Pentax amongst many others, broadened their expertise.
Since the opening much has happened, the Internet began, Congestion Charging in London happened, and the London tube bombing of 2005 happened just moments away from the Bruswick Centre. The Flash Centre has remained a service based business with “family” values, where the staff and many customers remain can feel at home. Twenty six years on, The Brunswick Centre shop has been left behind in order for us to create a new type of business. A business environment ready to grow into the future, based around sharing the experience of staff and legacy customers with a new audience who are hungry for the understanding required to be able to successfully break conventional rules, and in the process, create their own style and direction.
Now the Flash Centre re-opens it's doors after a strenuous relocation, just three stops from Kings Cross on the Victoria line. Pop in to see the idea in action and witness proof of the success in the events organised by and cropping up at The Flash Centre, sharing knowledge and experience from the spectrum of creatives' in the new studio using the range of media now made very accessible.
So keep an eye out for whats's happening at The Flash Centre. If you are ready to share your story and learn from the best, tell one of the Flash Centre's what you need and see if they can make it happen.
