Improve your wildlife photography skills

The Wildfowl & Wetlands Trust (WWT) Martin Mere Wetland Centre is the venue for the North West Bird Watching Festival on 16 and 17 November. The centre is near Southport, Lancashire, and is open 8am to 5pm on each day

Martin Mere’s general manager Nick Brooks says, “The North West Bird Watching Festival is one of our most popular events at the centre and is a great weekend for groups of nature-loving photographers to get together and perfect their wildlife photography skills.”

Over 70 species of wild birds and experts, including wildlife author Kate Bradbury, cameraman Jack Perks and wildlife photographer Alan Hewitt, will be hosting talks.

Events include photo workshops, demonstrations and tours around the centre to learn about the WWT’s work. Most festival events are free, but for some talks there is a charge –  for example, a photography workshop with Alan Hewitt costs £5 per person and floodlit swans is £3 per person.

Entry for non-WWT adults costs £13 on the day or £11.70 if booked in advance online – entry is free to WWT members. Concessions, group and family tickets are available.

For details of admission and events please visit the WWT website.
