Fast super-wide Samyang zoom lands for Sony E-Mount

The 14-24mm f/2.8 AF lens for Sony full-frame cameras is a joint venture between Samyang and Schneider-Kreuznach

A new ultra-wide 14-24mm f/2.8 AF zoom lens for Sony full-frame E-mount cameras has been jointly developed by Korean lens brand LK Samyang and German optics specialist Schneider-Kreuznach.

The weatherproof lens blends precision engineering with modern manufacturing to deliver a lightweight yet robust tool for wide-angle specialists for just £1050.

Weighing just 445g and measuring 88.8 x 84.0mm, the lens is remarkably compact for its class – making it ideal for handheld shooting, travel or gimbal-mounted work. It offers a constant f/2.8 maximum aperture, 15 elements in 11 groups, and a close focusing distance of just 0.18m, enabling striking wide-angle close-ups.

In a world first, the lens allows the use of front filters despite its 14mm field of view.

The lens features for outdoor use. It’s set to appeal to landscape, architecture, astro, and event shooters seeking high-quality optics in a super-wide package.
