Life in Syria photography project to be showcased in London

The collection exhibits the work of five Syrian photographers who have captured the everyday lives of millions of Syrians

The 27 photographs, all chosen by the photographers, show the moments that impacted them significantly between 2011 and 2016. The images capture the reality of millions of Syrians’ lives, and will be showcased as part of a week-long festival to mark World Refugee Week 2019.

Beginning on 18 June, the festival will be hosted by WeWork outside their 8, Devonshire Square workspace, in collaboration with UNHCR and GoFundMe. Following WeWork’s Refugee Initiative, the festival is designed to, “bring people together, raise awareness of refugees in the UK and encourage a greater understanding of the reality of refugee experiences”, as stated by Mathieu Proust, General Manager of WeWork UK and Ireland.

In addition to the Life in Syria photography exhibition, events at the festival include an outdoor cinema, live music, culinary classes and a pop-up shop.

To learn more about the festival or to purchase tickets for events, please visit the official Refugee Week 2019 page.
