Samyang expands V-AF lens series by two

Posted on Nov 2, 2022

V-AF 24mm T1.9 FE and V-AF 35mm T1.9 FE join the line-up, which are perfect for vlogging and recording on the go with a Sony E-mount

In the wake of September’s innovative worldwide launch in the video and film sector, Samyang is expanding its V-AF series of video lenses with autofocus for Sony E-mount cameras with full-frame sensors. Two extra focal lengths are added in the form of the V-AF 24mm T1.9 FE and V-AF 35mm T1.9 FE.

In utilising a consistent form factor, the 24mm and 35mm lenses optimise compatibility with gimbals and drones, while the uniform positioning of the aperture/focus ring makes changing lenses super speedy. Balanced weight distribution means that gimbals do not have to be recalibrated and the recording continues seamlessly. For the ultimate in portability and handling, the lenses sit at a lightweight 280g and a compact size of 73x70mm.

If you’re looking for resolutions up to 8K, look no further. Reaching super-high def with ease, the 24mm and 35mm lenses shoot with 8K support and colour tone to avoid colour shift when changing lenses. The combined weight and technological prowess make the 24mm and 35mm ideal for use with gimbals and drones.

Typical of Samyang lenses, the new additions possess a custom switch and focus hold button prove very useful, while a handy integrated tally lamp indicates when recording is in progress to ensure undisturbed video shooting. Firmware updates can be imported quickly and easily via the Samyang Lens Station.

The V-AF series can be purchased from WALSER, the exclusive distributor for Samyang and XEEN in Germany and Austria. The V-AF 35mm T1.9 FE for Sony E retails for £542, and the V-AF 24mm T1.9 FE for Sony E for £559.
