Tamron completes its fast zoom trinity

New super-wide zoom joins standard and tele versions in Tamron’s high-end lens range

Tamron’s next-generation 16-30mm F/2.8 Di III VXD G2 is an ultra-wide-angle zoom lens for Sony E-mount and Nikon Z mount full-frame mirrorless cameras.

Alongside the 28-75mm f/2.8 G2 and 70-180mm f/2.8 G2 telephoto zoom, it completes Tamron’s acclaimed f/2.8 G2 trinity. Together, these three lenses cover the versatile 16mm to 180mm range and builds on the success of its predecessor with enhanced imaging performance, broader focal length coverage and cutting-edge user customisation.

Designed for still photographers and video content creators alike, the 16-30mm F/2.8 G2 offers ultra-wide-angle shooting. Expanding the zoom range of the popular Tamron 17-28mm F/2.8 Di III RXD to 16-30mm, it maintains a compact, travel-ready build. It also incorporates Tamron’s fastest and most precise VXD linear motor, offering high-speed, high-accuracy autofocus.

The G2’s optical design incorporates XLD, LD and GM elements to ensure high resolution and stunning bokeh throughout the zoom range. Meanwhile, features such as moisture-resistant construction, BBAR-G2 coating and compatibility with Tamron Lens Utility software ensure robust performance in all shooting conditions.

The price for Sony E and the Nikon Z versions is £850. More info at tamron.com/global/
