Dear Reader,

After careful consideration, we have made the difficult decision to close Photography News. It ceases publication immediately.

Photography News has been part of the photographic community for many years, and we’re incredibly grateful to everyone who has supported the title along the way – whether you’ve been a subscriber, retailer, camera club, contributor, advertiser or simply enjoyed picking up and reading the magazine.

If you have an active paid subscription to Photography News, you will automatically receive a refund to the value of any outstanding issues remaining on your subscription. You do not need to take any action. Refunds will be processed within 30 days.

We also wanted to clarify what this means for our current competitions:

• The word search competition featured in the latest issue remains open and will be honoured as usual. Entries can continue to be submitted up until the closing date stated in the magazine.

• The Photography News Photographer of the Year competition has been cancelled. Any photographs already submitted will not be published, shared or used for any other purpose and will be securely deleted.

Any personal data held specifically in connection with the title will be securely deleted in line with UK GDPR and our data protection obligations, subject to any information we are legally required to retain for accounting or regulatory purposes.

While Photography News is coming to an end, our sister title Pro Moviemaker will continue to bring together the latest cameras, kit, technology, techniques and industry insight for filmmakers and content creators. If your interests extend into filmmaking, video or content creation, we’d love to welcome you to the Pro Moviemaker community. You can find out more and subscribe at promoviemaker.net.
