Wembley gets Wonderwall of photos

Ahead of the Oasis reunion shows this summer, Wembley Park has launched a new outdoor photography exhibition offering a rare and intimate look at one of British music’s most famous sibling duos. Brothers: Liam and Noel Through the Lens of Kevin Cummins features over 20 large-format images of the Gallagher brothers, shot in 1994 during the band’s meteoric rise.

The photographs, taken by legendary British music photographer Kevin Cummins, are displayed across iconic Wembley Park locations – many of which Oasis later headlined – including Olympic Way, the OVO Arena Wembley and opposite Wembley Stadium. The exhibition runs until 30 September and is free to visit.

Cummins, famed for his work with Joy Division, The Smiths and New Order, was instrumental in shaping Oasis’s early image. His now-iconic shots – such as the brothers wearing Manchester City shirts emblazoned with “Brother” – helped define the band’s visual identity during their formative year.

The exhibition includes previously unseen images from Oasis’s first studio session, candid hotel moments and atmospheric portraits taken across the UK and Europe. Many were originally published in Cummins’ recent book Oasis: The Masterplan.

Curator Claudio Giambrone, head of cultural programming at Wembley Park, says the show aims to spotlight the emotional connection between the Gallaghers: “These photos reveal tenderness and trust – moments that contrast with the combative image that came later.”

Brothers forms part of the Wembley Park Art Trail, home to public artworks including the Swiftie Steps, a Lana Del Rey mural and the Square of Fame.
